A Spotlight on Workday: the Memorial Tournament’s New Presenting Sponsor
Sent on Monday, March 14, 2022
For this month’s E-Newsletter, we want to introduce Workday, the Memorial Tournament’s new presenting sponsor. 2022 kicks off a 10-year agreement with Workday, and the event will continue to enjoy elevated status on the PGA TOUR and feature a world-class field of competitors. Read on to learn more about Workday, its unique connection to golf, and the beneficiaries of this year’s event.
In just under 100 days, Jack and Barbara Nicklaus will welcome back the world’s best golfers to Muirfield Village Golf Club as part of the Memorial Tournament. This year’s event will also mark the inaugural year for Workday, a leader in enterprise cloud applications for finance and human resources, serving as the new presenting sponsor. Workday is excited to be a part of the Memorial Tournament’s next chapter, building on Jack and Barbara Nicklaus’s vision to showcase not only the best in golf but also give back to the community, and the impressive legacy of Nationwide, who served as the event’s presenting sponsor over the past 11 years.
Workday has deep ties to golf – including partnering with the PGA TOUR, supporting local charities and organizations dedicated to the good of communities, teaming up with brand ambassadors, and more. Whether it’s in business or on the golf course, Workday recognizes the importance of being able to strategize and plan for what’s ahead, to pivot and navigate change, to compete at the highest level, which is why the company is so passionate about supporting this event and the game of golf overall.
The technology company has a strong commitment to purpose – inspiring a brighter Workday for all – and is guided by its core values (including innovation, integrity, and fun). And it’s because of these values that it strives to empower and help organizations navigate change, create a positive impact, and give back to local communities. Workday has partnered with Stephen and Ayesha Curry’s Eat. Learn. Play. Foundation on several events including the annual Workday Charity Classic, a one-day charity golf event that aims to positively impact lives in the California Bay Area and beyond. The 2021 event raised more than $2.6M and 100% of the proceeds went directly towards the Foundation’s “Eat” pillar, focusing on combating food insecurity in the Bay Area, an important cause particularly following the events over the past two years.
Starting this year, the Eat. Learn. Play. Foundation joins Nationwide Children’s Hospital as the two primary beneficiaries of the Memorial Tournament presented by Workday. Eat. Learn. Play. has an incredible mission committed to unlocking every child's amazing potential by focusing on three vital pillars for a healthy childhood – nutrition, education, and physical activity. Together with Nationwide Children’s Hospital, which has been a Tournament charitable partner since 1976, Eat. Learn. Play. will further enhance and grow the event’s commitment to giving back to families and children in Central Ohio and beyond. And this is all made possible through the addition of Eat. Learn. Play. into the established alliance amongst the Memorial Tournament, Nationwide Children’s Hospital, and the Nicklaus Children’s Health Care Foundation.
Workday is greatly looking forward to supporting the local Columbus community while growing its partnerships in the area. To learn more please visit: www.workday.com, and follow Workday on social media: Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook, and Instagram.
